The Youth Producer from the Sydney Opera House had seen some of my previous design and photography work (working with young people in shelters) and invited me to produce and create an exhibition to be displayed at the Sydney Opera House.
I lead creative workshops with a group of young indigenous people in Sydney, facilitating the visual documentation, via photography, of their stories of life as a marginalised group of diverse young people.
I ran photography workshops and designed the exhibition, as well as photographically documenting the project participants.
The final result was a large scale exhibition of photographic work by a group of young indigenous people, and my own documentary work, displayed within the Sydney Opera House as part of a larger youth arts festival.
The creative model was later adopted by a number of local authorities/councils as part of their youth development programs.
